GroupBuy Terms of Service

These terms apply to any Shopify store that installs GroupBuy ("the app"). By installing or using the app, the store owner ("you") agrees to them. If you don't agree, uninstall the app.

The service

GroupBuy lets your shoppers unlock a discount by buying with a friend. It creates discount codes in your store, records which orders belong to which group deal, and captures, cancels or refunds group orders through Shopify according to whether the group fills in time. Paid plans are billed through Shopify and can be cancelled at any time from the app's Plan & Billing page.

Data processing

For your customers' personal data, you are the controller and GroupBuy processes it only on your behalf and on your instructions, which are given by how you configure and use the app. In particular, GroupBuy:

• processes only the data described in our Privacy Policy, and only to provide the app's features;
• doesn't sell personal data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising;
• keeps data encrypted in transit and at rest, in an access-controlled database hosted by Fly.io in the United States;
• deletes order details 90 days after a group deal ends, all of your store's data within 48 hours of Shopify's request after you uninstall, and a customer's order details when Shopify sends a customer data deletion request;
• will tell you without undue delay if it becomes aware of a breach affecting your customers' data.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the discounts you offer, for the products you sell, and for telling your customers how their data is used, for example in your store's privacy policy.
